Linda Andrews - Glass Artist
Linda has a BA in graphic design and illustration, and earned her living in that field for 25 years. She has worked in a variety of fine art forms including watercolor, batik, intaglio & monotype printmaking, serigraphy and photography. Her main focus for the last 19 years has been fused glass and cast bronze.

In 1988, Linda took her first glass fusing class, became infected with "glass madness," and her life was forever changed. She was fortunate to be invited by her instructor and one of the founders of Bullseye Glass, Boyce Lundstrom, to contribute to the making of his 2nd and 3rd books; Advanced Glass Fusing and Glass Casting & Moldmaking-definitive texts for this discipline.

Linda was privileged to attend the world renowned Pilchuck Glass School in 1991. She was one of the few students honored by having a piece included at the year long Pilchuck Glass Exhibit at SeaTac Airport.

From 1991-1996, Linda attended classes in bronze casting at Columbia Basin College. She has also studied jewelry vacuum casting, and does all of her own casting, welding and finish work.

Linda has shown her work extensively since 1992, winning many awards including Best Fused Glass in the national Niche 2000 Awards competition and numerous Bests in Show. She was selected as one of 50 artists worldwide to have work in the Illuminated Show at the 2003 International Glass Art Society Conference in Seattle. In 2004, she was one of 40 artists worldwide to be included in the Emerge show in Portland. In the spring of 2006, she had work in the International Glass Art Exhibition in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. Her work is exhibited internationally and resides in public and private collections worldwide.

"The one unifying feature of my work in glass to date is my great fascination with using the raw material of glass 'stringers' and 'rods', and textures I can create using them. My work makes wonderful use of blending from one color to another and in creating new colors by layering one color over another."

Linda's studio is located just west of Richland in the beautiful wine country of the new Red Mountain appellation of Washington State.
